The 11th Anniversary Production of “La Pastorela” in Austin was produced by the Austin Latino Theater Alliance.

“La Pastorela” is a musical comedy which tells the story of a group of shepherds trying to reach Bethlehem while they fend off the obstacles placed before them by the savvy devils.

Luis Ordaz from Proyecto Teatro, Austin's premiere all-Spanish Theater group was chosen to direct La Pastorela 2008. Consequently, for the first time ever, "La Pastorela" was all in Spanish and a completely new script written by Luis was introduced to Austin audiences.
